Roofs are a hot topic in Newcastle, Australia
By thomas qwer | Published  12/11/2011

2012 didn’t bring any good news about climate change, so for the foreseeable future we all have to work hard on cutting our energy output and making use of the sun as a carbon neutral energy source.

One problem with the sun beating down almost constantly on our roofs is this makes a constant source of heat in our homes so of course we have to get rid of this excess heat with roof ventilation. The usual answer is to use a whirlybird ventilator but we all know how noisy that can be. There is a now a more cost effective and quieter method of ventilating that space which has no running costs, is ten times more effective and automatically switches off when not needed. The Solar Star roof ventilation unit saves condensation from building up in the roof space without letting in any moisture from outside and can be fitted in less than thirty minutes.

Our roofs also block out much needed natural daylight and we often fit skylights to lighten dimly lit rooms below. There is a much better way to do this with a Solatube daylighting system which will bring in that much needed natural light onto your work surfaces, reading area or where ever extra light is needed.

Tubular skylights have health benefits as well as saving on energy, they are better for us but they also benefit our pets: fish, birds, dogs and any other animals will be happier and healthier when they are resting and playing in natural sunlight.

Our roofs and our ceilings don’t have to be cluttered with ugly practical fittings either, both our Solar Star roof ventilators and Solatube skylights will sit snugly and unobtrusively on your roof, while inside, the Solatube ‘light’ comes in enough different designs to suit any decorative style.
